Dr. Martin Aidelbaum of Pacific Coast Oral and Maxillofacial Solutions

Dr. Martin Aidelbaum has current and advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of oral and maxillofacial problems from the simple to the complex. He is a fellowship qualified, certified specialist in oral and maxillofacial surgery. This involves the expertise in: dental extractions, the removal of difficult or impacted teeth (wisdom teeth), the placement of dental implants, the management of facial injuries and infections, the treatment of dental and skeletal deformities (orthognathic surgery), the surgical management of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction, the treatment of cleft lip and cleft palate conditions, facial and jaw reconstruction procedures and care for other diseases (pathology) and esthetic concerns of the oral and maxillofacial region and related structures.

Dr. Aidelbaum completed his undergraduate dental degree at the University of Toronto and his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Minnesota. He is a Fellow of the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Aidelbaum maintains a private practice in Surrey. He was the Head of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of British Columbia for 9 years. He is also a consultant for the BC Cancer Agency and Chairman of the Division of Dentistry at Surrey Memorial Hospital. He has hospital privileges at Surrey Memorial Hospital and Langley Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Jason Chen was born in Taiwan but grew up in Vancouver and speaks fluent Mandarin. He completed his B.Sc. in Biochemistry and received his DMD from the University of British Columbia.

Following graduation at UBC, Dr. Chen moved to Bronx, New York to complete his studies in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Montefiore is the largest OMFS training program in the United States, doing more than 2300 sedations and placing over 3000 implants each year. Dr. Chen gained experience using a variety of advanced techniques to aid traditional alveolar augmentation methods for implant surgery and major reconstruction.

Dr. Chen is a clinical associate professor at UBC Faculty of Dentistry teaching the undergraduate students as well as teaching the IV Sedation module to the graduate periodontics residents. He operates at Surrey Memorial Hospital and is a consultant with the Fraser Valley Cancer Agency. Dr. Chen is also a member of the Anesthesia and Sedation Committee at the College of Dental Surgeons in BC.

He also looks forward to meeting new patients and contributing his knowledge to the dental community of the Fraser Valley.
